1. Animals + Nature: We have a broader focus that encompasses the health and safety of our entire ecosystem: not only the humans & animals. While we currently have 15 acres of sanctuary land, we have a secured, inner sanctuary about 2 acres that contains our homestead, cat castle, catios, chicken coop, barn, and all our animal family, while the rest is managed and conserved for local wildlife and native plant species.
2. Ferals, Strays, & E-list Animals: Inside our barn, we have 5 spacious dog kennels with both indoor/outdoor space, as well as 4 additional smaller kennels inside for our new cat intakes. We also have 3 speciality intake facilities to use if necessary, one with a catio. We help to resocialize feral cats and their babies and will take any animals that go on our Humane Society's euthanization list. We then work closely with other organizations such as Adopt-a-Pet.com to find forever homes for our strays, e-list animals, kittens found and some resocialized cats.
3. TNR & Community Assistance: Not only do we care for animals in our sanctuary space, but also are active in our community with TNR assistance and helping out other locals with vet care, spay/neuter, and food for their backyard feral cat colonies. We often times find kittens and have focused more on resocializing them and adopting into loving forever homes!
No, we do not. We focus primarily on abandoned, feral, and e-list animals in our community. We assist in getting them spayed/neutered, give them quality care while healing, and actively work to rehabilitate and resocialize them with humans and other domesticated animals.
For cats found (after health screenings), we then release them into our sanctuary where they may integrate with our cat community, or they may live in the outer sanctuary with the wildlife. It depends on the personality of cat, as some prefer to live outside or in a barn, and some would prefer a more comfortable indoor house-cat life. We assess each individual animal on intake and have specialty/isolated containments if needed.
For dogs found, we actively search to find them a forever home while providing quality care and socialization. We work with many other non-profit animal rescues to ensure we find the best home.
Our four initiatives we focus on daily are Quality Animal Care, Community Animal Management, Enrichment Projects (land & resource management), and Education & Outreach.
